night - Shaanxi Normal University, official meeting with the director of international programs
office, and giving seminar to year 3/4 students. This university ranked 73th in China.
25/5 (Monday)
Morning - Education Department of Shaanxi People's Government, official meeting with the
director as a courtesy visit. The local government is organising a large education fair by the end
of the month, and we're invited. Xi'an has a large muslim population, and is a very good market
for us.
Afternoon - Malaysia Higher Education Forum in Xi'an Eurasia University, giving seminar to
students and meeting representatives from universities around Xi'an, including Xi'an
International University, Xi'an Peihua University, Xi'an University of Science and Technology,
and Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute. Most of them are private universities.
26/5 (Tuesday)
Evening - Meeting with headmasters from middle schools around Chengdu.
27/5 (Wednesday)
Morning - Malaysia Higher Education Forum in Xindu No.1 Middle School, giving seminar to
headmasters from middle schools around Chengdu and students. This is for undergraduate
students only. UM wants to increase UG international students.
Afternoon - Xihua University, official meeting with the deans from various faculties. Discussed
about potential PG students for us, including their current Master students and faculty members.
This is a "young" university that has no PhD program.
