MM unit upgrade workshop

< Brief Descriptions >
A workshop was held at PAUM, University of Malaya to prepare the proposal to upgrade the
Multimedia unit to a department. All members attended, except Dr. Ainuddin who was on
paternity leave. Thanks for the great cooperation of all members, the 2-day workshop proceed
as planned, with each member presenting their findings in the assigned areas.
In line with the preparation of the proposal, the following areas were also discussed: (a) body of
knowledge of multimedia computing; (b) current trend in multimedia computing; (c) human
resources for the unit; and areas of expertise of each member.

The draft of the proposal is ready, and it is expected to be finalized by middle of February 2017.
